#5 of 9 hotels in West Loop 289 & Milwaukee by Axel's take. West Loop 289 & Milwaukee is #5 of 6 places to stay in Lubbock, Texas. The best hotels in West Loop 289 & Milwaukee, ranked · Where to stay in Lubbock, Texas

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A solid southwest Lubbock base, with friendly staff and a parking-fee catch. a straightforward 3-star Marriott hotel in southwest Lubbock, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star Marriott hotel is a strong pick for a short, car-based Lubbock stay. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the friendly staff, comfortable rooms and convenient access to restaurants and shopping. Included hot breakfast makes mornings easy, while the outdoor pool and patio give it something beyond the usual roadside-hotel basics. We'd choose it for practical comfort rather than character or a campus-side location.

The main catch is paid parking, which Marriott confirms despite some listings still advertising it as free. Recent Expedia reviews are mostly positive, but several mention missed bathroom-cleaning details or minor maintenance issues, so room condition is not entirely consistent. Housekeeping is every other day. We'd skip it if you want to explore without driving or expect meticulous upkeep throughout.

Best for: road-trippers and short stays; families wanting breakfast included; business travelers with a car
Watch out for: daily parking charge; occasional cleaning and maintenance lapses; car-oriented location away from campus
Location: Near southwest Lubbock shopping, restaurants and freeway access; driving is the practical choice.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, with refrigerators and microwaves; some recent guests flag wear or unfinished repairs.
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, tempered by several recent reports of missed bathroom details.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across Expedia and Booking.com.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast, outdoor pool, patio, gym and lobby beer-and-wine bar; no airport shuttle or EV charging.
Fees and surprises: Marriott confirms paid daily parking and every-other-day housekeeping; pets are not allowed.
