#9 of 9 hotels in West Loop 289 & Milwaukee by Axel's take. West Loop 289 & Milwaukee is #5 of 6 places to stay in Lubbock, Texas. The best hotels in West Loop 289 & Milwaukee, ranked · Where to stay in Lubbock, Texas

Axel's take: 6.3/10

Useful basics and friendly staff, but housekeeping makes this a gamble. a budget limited-service hotel in southwest Lubbock, scored for what it is.

This budget limited-service hotel offers practical extras: free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi, plus rooms with microwaves and refrigerators. It’s a workable base for drivers visiting southwest Lubbock or Texas Tech. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise individual front-desk staff, and plenty report comfortable, clean stays. Still, we’d call it a cautious choice rather than a dependable budget pick.

The problem is consistency. Across several booking sites, 2026 guests repeatedly describe stained carpets and bedding, poorly cleaned bathrooms and maintenance problems, including broken bathroom tiles. Those reports continue into autumn, alongside positive reviews. The indoor pool and hot tub are advertised, but guests also question their cleanliness. A damage deposit applies. We’d skip it for travelers who prioritize reliable housekeeping or are booking mainly for the pool.

  • Best for: budget-conscious travelers with a car; short southwest Lubbock visits

  • Watch out for: recurring housekeeping complaints; worn carpets and bathroom maintenance; uneven pool cleanliness

  • Location: Off US 62 in southwest Lubbock; practical for drivers, not a walkable campus base.

  • Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful; guests report spacious rooms but recurring stains and maintenance faults.

  • Cleanliness: Clean stays are reported, but repeated 2026 complaints about bedding, carpets and bathrooms undermine reliability.

  • Service: Front-desk friendliness is a recurring strength; problem handling receives mixed feedback.

  • Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking; advertised indoor heated pool, hot tub and fitness center.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a damage deposit and charges for early arrival, late departure, cribs and extra beds; pets are not allowed.
