Axel's take: 8.5/10

Warm service and reliable comfort make this a strong San Isidro business base. a traditional 5-star business hotel in San Isidro, scored for what it is.

Meliá Lima is a traditional 5-star business hotel in San Isidro, strongest on service and everyday comfort rather than cutting-edge luxury. We'd pick it for work trips or a comfortable city base: recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and the breakfast buffet. Real Plaza Salaverry is a short walk away, and the outdoor pool, gym and restaurant round out a practical offering.

The trade-off is that you're not staying in Lima's main tourist neighborhoods, so sightseeing means budgeting for transport and traffic. Rooms lean classic rather than contemporary, and several categories have bathtubs rather than walk-in showers. Check whether breakfast is included; airport transfers cost extra. We'd skip it if your priority is exploring Miraflores on foot or getting a distinctly modern luxury experience.

• Best for: business travelers in San Isidro; travelers prioritizing attentive service; city stays with shopping nearby

• Watch out for: transport needed for main tourist neighborhoods; bathtubs in several room categories; breakfast not included in every booking

• Location: Near Real Plaza Salaverry; practical for San Isidro, less convenient for sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and classic styling; confirm room size and shower configuration before booking.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the clearest recurring highlight across guest-review sites.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, El Tambo restaurant and optional The Level lounge access.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; airport transfers and early check-in or late checkout carry additional charges.
