Axel's take: 8.3/10

A comfortable Miraflores base, but don't book it for the rooftop pool. A conventional 4-star city hotel in central Miraflores, scored for what it is.

Jose Antonio Deluxe is a conventional 4-star in central Miraflores, strongest on the basics rather than personality. We'd pick it for sightseeing: Kennedy Park and restaurants are close, and Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and cleanliness. Staff generally earn good marks, and the breakfast buffet makes this a practical base for a few nights in Lima.

The main caveat is the rooftop: Booking.com currently marks the outdoor pool temporarily closed, and a September 2026 Expedia guest reported both the pool and rooftop inaccessible during construction. Confirm reopening directly rather than trusting the photos. Air-conditioning reports have also been mixed, although newer guests describe it working well. We'd skip it if pool time or boutique character matters more than room space and a convenient location.

• Best for: First-time Lima visitors; Sightseers who prioritize room comfort; Business travelers

• Watch out for: Pool closure and rooftop construction; Mixed air-conditioning reports; Business-hotel atmosphere rather than boutique character

• Location: Central Miraflores near Kennedy Park and restaurants; not a beachfront hotel.

• Rooms: Spacious rooms and comfortable beds draw steady praise; confirm cooling if heat-sensitive.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Generally helpful and professional, with occasional less enthusiastic reports.

• Amenities: Breakfast buffet, restaurant and gym; pool listed temporarily closed, with rooftop access also affected in September 2026.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; obtain direct confirmation of pool and rooftop reopening before booking.
