Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong choice for old-world luxury, attentive service and spacious rooms—not resort-style swimming. a historic five-star city hotel in residential San Isidro, scored for what it is.

Country Club Lima is a historic five-star city hotel in San Isidro, and a strong pick if you prefer traditional elegance to contemporary design. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. Breakfast is another recurring highlight, while Perroquet restaurant and Bar Inglés give the hotel appeal beyond the bedroom. We'd choose it for a polished, unhurried Lima stay.

The trade-offs matter: this is not a beach hotel, and guests repeatedly describe the outdoor pool as tiny. Some rooms pick up noise from neighboring recreation facilities, so request a quiet location rather than assuming every room is peaceful. July 2026 Tripadvisor reviews also reported pool works; confirm those have finished before booking. We'd skip it if swimming, guaranteed silence or a beachfront setting drives the trip.

• Best for: travelers who prefer classic luxury; couples seeking spacious rooms; business travelers staying in San Isidro

• Watch out for: very small outdoor pool; noise varies by room location; confirm completion of reported pool works

• Location: Residential San Isidro beside the golf-club area; not beachfront.

• Rooms: Spacious, traditionally styled rooms and generous bathrooms; request a quiet position.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia guest feedback.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise attentive, helpful staff and concierge assistance.

• Amenities: Perroquet, Bar Inglés, gym, spa and a small outdoor pool; golf is off-site.

• Fees and surprises: Spa and airport transfers cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and whether July 2026 pool works are complete.
