#7 of 9 hotels in Heavenly Village by Axel's take. Heavenly Village is #1 of 6 places to stay in Lake Tahoe. The best hotels in Heavenly Village, ranked · Where to stay in Lake Tahoe

Axel's take: 8.0/10

Spacious suites and excellent walkability, but the extras dent its appeal. a lively, all-suite 4-star near Heavenly Village, scored for what it is.

Margaritaville is a lively, all-suite 4-star that works best as a comfortable base for Heavenly Village, skiing and casino evenings—not a secluded lakeside retreat. We'd pick it for the spacious suites and short walk to the gondola, restaurants and shops. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff, while Booking.com guests also appreciate the space and location. The indoor pool, hot tub and family activities make it especially practical with children.

The biggest drawback is the bill beyond the room: a daily resort fee, paid valet-only parking and breakfast charges weaken the value. Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly flag those extras, with some also reporting slow dining service and uneven upkeep. We'd skip it for a quiet romantic escape or a beachfront stay; the shoreline is roughly a ten-minute walk away.

Best for: families wanting suite space; skiers using the Heavenly Gondola; travelers who prioritize walkability
Watch out for: daily resort fee and valet-only parking; lively, family-heavy atmosphere; not on the lakefront
Location: Excellent for Heavenly Village and casinos; roughly two minutes to the gondola and ten to the shoreline.
Rooms: Spacious suites with mini-fridges and coffee makers; more practical comfort than luxury.
Cleanliness: Strong recent Expedia feedback overall, despite some Tripadvisor reports of lapses.
Service: Friendly staff earn frequent praise; dining service can be slow.
Amenities: Indoor pool, hot tub, gym, ski storage, local shuttle and family activities.
Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee, charged valet-only parking and breakfast extra; the resort is cashless.
