A practical Victoria Island option, but room condition needs checking. An independent 3-star city hotel on Victoria Island, not a destination resort, scored for what it is.

Virginrose is an independent 3-star city hotel on Victoria Island, despite the resort name. We'd consider it for a short, location-first stay rather than a resort holiday. The hotel advertises a pool, gym, restaurant and spa; older Tripadvisor and Hotels.ng guests often praise the food and friendly staff. Overall ratings suggest a broadly decent, rather than standout, option.

The main reservation is room condition: maintenance and renovation complaints appear across older reviews, including a July 2023 Hotels.ng stay. Expedia's September 2025 guest gave it full marks, but without written detail; recent evidence remains limited. Ask for current room photos and confirm air-conditioning and pool availability before booking. We'd skip it if freshly updated rooms and reliably polished service are priorities.

• Best for: Short Victoria Island business stays; Travelers prioritizing location over polish

• Watch out for: Older reports of rooms needing renovation; Limited recent written guest feedback; Airport transfers cost extra

• Location: On Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, with Terra Kulture and Silverbird Galleria nearby.

• Rooms: Older feedback is mixed on comfort and upkeep; request current photos of your room category.

• Cleanliness: Older reviews range from clean and tidy to odor and cleaning complaints; current consistency is unclear.

• Service: Friendly staff feature repeatedly in older reviews, although some guests describe slow service.

• Amenities: Officially advertises a pool, gym, restaurant, spa and event halls; Expedia lists free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free self-parking and a surcharge for airport transfers; confirm breakfast inclusion.
