Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical Lekki base with welcoming staff, but noise and booking inconsistencies need attention. an independent 4-star business hotel in Lekki Phase 1, scored for what it is.

The Lilygate is an independent 4-star business hotel in Lekki Phase 1, and we'd consider it for a short stay centered on this part of Lagos. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff and clean rooms, while Booking.com feedback is more mixed. Its restaurant, gym, spa and outdoor pool make it a useful all-in-one base rather than somewhere you choose for standout luxury.

The main reservations are noise and inconsistent delivery. Booking.com guests report compact rooms, bathroom splash problems and confusion over breakfast inclusions; several also describe disappointing communication. Nightlife noise appears across sources, including a nearby-club complaint in April 2026. Confirm breakfast coverage for every guest in writing and request a room away from entertainment. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or consistently polished four-star service.

• Best for: business travelers with Lekki appointments; short stays prioritizing location; travelers wanting on-site dining and fitness

• Watch out for: nightlife and entertainment noise; compact rooms and bathroom splash issues; breakfast inclusions and billing confusion

• Location: A convenient Lekki Phase 1 base; guests frequently praise proximity to their local plans.

• Rooms: Comfort draws praise, but room size, central cooling and shower drainage receive repeated criticism.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across sites, with occasional complaints about linens and bathroom upkeep.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn frequent praise; communication and booking-dispute handling are less consistent.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bars, outdoor pool, gym and spa; an August 2026 guest thought the pool needed refurbishment.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and the number of guests covered before arrival.
