Axel's take: 7.0/10

Worth considering for Surulere convenience and nightlife, but check the room before committing. A simple independent hotel and leisure complex in Surulere, scored for what it is.

Rita Lori is a simple independent hotel and leisure complex in Surulere, with a pool, gym, restaurant and nightclub rather than a quiet, polished hotel experience. We'd consider it for a practical mainland stay with entertainment on site. Google's 3.7/5 overall rating suggests broadly satisfactory rather than standout experiences; Hotels.ng's 7.2/10 points in a similar direction, although its written reviews are old.

The main reservation is room condition: older guests repeatedly describe tired fittings and air-conditioning problems, alongside praise for welcoming staff and comfortable stays. Recent, independently verifiable room reviews are limited, so we wouldn't assume those issues have either persisted or been fixed. Ask for current room photos and a room away from entertainment areas. Expedia lists no elevator and airport pickup at an extra charge; travelers needing step-free access should confirm arrangements directly.

• Best for: Travelers with plans in Surulere; Guests who enjoy on-site nightlife; Short, straightforward mainland stays

• Watch out for: Limited recent room-condition evidence; Nightclub and event activity; No elevator listed by Expedia

• Location: On Taoridi Street off Babs Animashaun Road, convenient for a Surulere-focused stay.

• Rooms: Simply furnished; older reviews repeatedly flag aging fittings and air-conditioning issues.

• Cleanliness: Older reports are mixed; recent evidence is insufficient to establish current consistency.

• Service: Older reviews often praise welcoming staff, but problem handling receives some criticism.

• Amenities: Official site advertises a pool, gym, restaurant and nightclub; Expedia also lists free Wi-Fi and breakfast.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free parking, paid airport pickup and no elevator; confirm accessibility and breakfast inclusions.
