Axel's take: 6.8/10

A practical Lekki option, but check the basics before committing. a simple 3-star hotel and events venue in Lekki’s Chevy View Estate, scored for what it is.

Pelican is a simple 3-star hotel and events venue in Chevy View Estate, best considered for a short stay with plans nearby. Its listed outdoor pool, gym and free parking give it useful extras. Google’s broad rating is positive, while older guest accounts praise comfortable rooms and helpful staff alongside less consistent experiences. We'd treat it as a practical option rather than a dependable all-rounder.

The main reservation is uncertainty: the dated reviews we could read on Expedia, Tripadvisor and Hotels.ng stop in 2020–2021. They describe uneven reception service, maintenance problems and occasional noise, but cannot establish today's condition. The supplied official website also identifies itself as DoubleM, not Pelican. Confirm your reservation, room condition and working facilities directly; we'd skip it for a stay where quiet and consistency matter most.

• Best for: short stays with plans around Chevron Drive; travelers needing onsite parking

• Watch out for: limited recent, readable guest evidence; older reports of noise and uneven maintenance; supplied website identifies a different hotel

• Location: Inside Chevy View Estate, suited to nearby Lekki plans rather than a city-centre base.

• Rooms: Older guests describe comfortable rooms, but also faulty air-conditioning, TVs and other maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Older reports range from neat rooms to poor housekeeping; current consistency remains unverified.

• Service: Some guests praise helpful staff; older reviews repeatedly criticize reception and booking handling.

• Amenities: Booking sites list an outdoor pool, gym and free parking; confirm availability before relying on them.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast is listed as extra, and free Wi-Fi is specified for public areas rather than every room.
