Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong Ikeja business base, with comfortable rooms and notably warm staff. an upscale business and conference hotel in Ikeja GRA, scored for what it is.

Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja is an upscale business and conference hotel, and a strong pick for mainland meetings or an airport overnight. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff. The outdoor pool, Isade Spa and several dining venues make it more appealing than a purely functional stopover.

The trade-off is consistency rather than a lack of facilities: some guests describe housekeeping or room-readiness lapses, though positive reports clearly dominate. Breakfast is not included in every booking, and Marriott says there is no airport shuttle. Courtyard by Marriott construction next door is another consideration; ask about current work and room positioning, since the evidence does not establish widespread noise disruption. We'd choose it for Ikeja convenience, but skip it if undisturbed quiet is essential.

• Best for: business travelers with Ikeja meetings; upscale airport stopovers; mainland stays with pool and spa time

• Watch out for: Courtyard by Marriott construction next door; occasional housekeeping and room-readiness lapses; breakfast exclusions and no hotel airport shuttle

• Location: Ikeja GRA base convenient for mainland business; Marriott places the international airport 7.8 km away.

• Rooms: Spacious, contemporary and generally comfortable, with occasional readiness and maintenance complaints.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across recent reviews, despite some housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn repeated praise; execution is not uniformly seamless.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, Isade Spa, gym, multiple dining venues and substantial meeting facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; check breakfast inclusion and current neighboring construction before booking.
