Axel's take: 6.7/10

A practical Agungi base, but maintenance and service make it a cautious choice. a basic 3-star hotel in Agungi, Lekki, scored for what it is.

Dmatel is a basic 3-star hotel in Agungi, best treated as a local base rather than a resort escape. Its location and relaxed atmosphere earn positive mentions, and Expedia lists a restaurant, outdoor pool and free parking. We'd consider it for a short stay near Ajiran, but not choose it for dependable comfort. Recent, dated guest evidence is limited.

Google's review summary flags recurring bathroom, cleanliness and service complaints; older Hotels.ng reviews also describe leaking fixtures, weak air-conditioning and unreliable Wi-Fi. Those older reports do not establish today's condition, but warrant checking your room before settling in. One Expedia guest reported an unhonored booking in December 2024, so reconfirm directly before arrival. We'd skip it for a work-critical stay or if stairs are difficult: Expedia lists no elevator.

• Best for: Short stays near Agungi or Ajiran; Travelers able to inspect their room first

• Watch out for: Bathroom maintenance and cleanliness complaints; Reconfirm reservations directly; No elevator

• Location: On Agungi Road in Ajiran, Lekki Peninsula II; not a beachfront resort.

• Rooms: The hotel advertises air-conditioning and Wi-Fi; older guests report small rooms and maintenance problems.

• Cleanliness: Google's summary shows a recurring concern, although recent dated accounts are scarce.

• Service: Feedback is mixed, with repeated complaints about staff responsiveness and room service.

• Amenities: Expedia lists a pool, restaurant, free parking and breakfast; confirm inclusions because listings conflict.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm payment arrangements and arrival times directly; booking sites disagree on policies.
