Hotels in La FortunaA simple, family-run 3-star cabin hotel outside central La Fortuna
8.6/10
A strong nature-focused base, with friendly service and simpler rooms than the gardens suggest.
Hotel Faro Arenal is a simple, family-run 3-star cabin hotel whose strongest feature is its leafy setting. We'd pick it for good-value access to La Fortuna's attractions without staying in the busy center. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and wildlife along the property's walking trails. Included breakfast, air conditioning and swimming pools make it a practical base for families and travelers spending their days outdoors.
The accommodation is more functional than polished. Recent Tripadvisor reviews flag small bathrooms, limited storage and some tired finishes, although the overall feedback remains strongly positive. Breakfast earns plenty of praise but doesn't please everyone. Plan on a car or taxis for trips into town. We'd skip it if you want upscale rooms, doorstep nightlife or complete silence rather than birds and other forest sounds.
