#6 of 9 hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat by Axel's take. Piasek & Nowy Świat is #3 of 7 places to stay in Krakow. The best hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat, ranked · Where to stay in Krakow

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong riverside five-star whose staff and location outshine its bathroom quirks. a full-service 5-star beside Wawel Castle and the Vistula, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Grand Krakow is a full-service 5-star beside Wawel Castle, and we'd pick it for comfortable sightseeing rather than intimate boutique character. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds, cleanliness and the extensive breakfast. The riverside setting puts the main square roughly 10–15 minutes away on foot, while the seasonal rooftop terrace makes good use of the castle and river views.

The compromises are worth checking before booking: some rooms face the atrium, the indoor pool is small, and several guests flag awkward, high-sided bath/shower combinations. Request a suitable shower layout if mobility matters, and book the specific view you want. Parking costs extra, and breakfast and Club access depend on your booking. We'd skip it if a large spa or a main-square doorstep is your priority.

Best for: couples exploring Krakow on foot; travelers wanting dependable full-service comfort; Marriott loyalists
Watch out for: high-sided bath/shower combinations in some rooms; small indoor pool; atrium-facing rooms lack outdoor views
Location: Beside Wawel and the river, roughly 10–15 minutes' walk from the main square.
Rooms: Comfortable beds draw praise; views and bathroom layouts vary, so choose the category carefully.
Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.
Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring highlight, particularly reception and concierge.
Amenities: Small indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, restaurants and a seasonal rooftop terrace.
Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur charges; confirm breakfast and Club access inclusions.
