#4 of 9 hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat by Axel's take. Piasek & Nowy Świat is #3 of 7 places to stay in Krakow. The best hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat, ranked · Where to stay in Krakow

Axel's take: 9.2/10

An excellent city-break base, with standout cleanliness and genuinely helpful staff. a modern independent 4-star near Krakow’s Main Market Square, scored for what it is.

Grand Ascot is a modern independent 4-star about ten minutes’ walk from Krakow’s Main Market Square, and it’s an excellent pick for a comfortable sightseeing stay. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spotless rooms, comfortable beds and helpful reception staff; Booking.com’s strong ratings reinforce that picture. Breakfast earns consistent praise for variety, while guests generally describe the location as quiet despite its central setting.

The trade-offs are mainly practical. This is a city hotel with a sauna and fitness room, not somewhere to book for extensive leisure facilities. Underground parking costs extra, requires advance reservation and, according to the hotel, excludes electric and LPG vehicles. Check whether breakfast is included in your booking, too. We’d choose it for walkable sightseeing and dependable comfort rather than a spa-focused escape.

  • Best for: couples on a city break; first-time Krakow visitors; travelers prioritizing cleanliness and service

  • Watch out for: paid parking requires advance reservation; electric and LPG vehicles excluded from the garage; breakfast inclusion depends on booking

  • Location: Around ten minutes on foot from the Main Market Square; guests generally find the setting quiet.

  • Rooms: Modern, air-conditioned rooms with consistently praised beds; family rooms and apartments are available.

  • Cleanliness: A standout strength across sites, with especially strong Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

  • Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise friendly reception staff and prompt handling of room issues.

  • Amenities: Four Restaurant, a bar, buffet breakfast, fitness room and sauna; reserve the sauna ahead during busy winter periods.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking, airport transfers and pets carry extra charges; check breakfast inclusion and garage vehicle restrictions.
