#9 of 9 hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat by Axel's take. Piasek & Nowy Świat is #3 of 7 places to stay in Krakow. The best hotels in Piasek & Nowy Świat, ranked · Where to stay in Krakow

Axel's take: 8.0/10

Good budget basics and helpful staff, but don’t count on quiet nights. A no-frills hostel with private rooms and dorms near Krakow’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Premium Hostel is a no-frills hostel with private rooms and dorms, offering good value about a 15–20-minute walk from Krakow’s Main Market Square. Bathrooms attached to every room, shared kitchens and round-the-clock reception make it a practical sightseeing base. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests broadly praise the location and helpful staff; cleanliness feedback is mostly positive, though Expedia’s much smaller review sample is less reassuring.

The compromises are basic furnishings, noise through walls and doors, and rooms that guests sometimes find too warm. Dorm reviews also repeatedly mention squeaky bunks. Breakfast costs extra and comes in a takeaway bag, not a buffet. Guests reported renovation work and an unavailable lift in spring 2026; completion is unverified, so confirm access before booking. We’d choose it for an inexpensive city break, not guaranteed quiet or a lively hostel social scene.

  • Best for: Budget-minded sightseeing trips; Couples wanting a simple private room; Travelers who prefer self-catering

  • Watch out for: Thin walls and squeaky dorm bunks; Warm rooms in hot weather; Confirm lift access after reported renovation work

  • Location: Walkable to the Old Town, with a nearby park and convenient tram connections.

  • Rooms: Simple private rooms and dorms with attached bathrooms; noise and summer warmth are recurring drawbacks.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive across larger review samples, but some recent guests report missed cleaning.

  • Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength; the hostel advertises 24-hour reception.

  • Amenities: Shared kitchens, free tea and coffee, Wi-Fi and luggage storage; limited social atmosphere.

  • Fees and surprises: Takeaway breakfast and airport transfers cost extra; spring 2026 lift disruption remains unconfirmed as resolved.
