#3 of 9 hotels in Kleparz & Main Station by Axel's take. Kleparz & Main Station is #4 of 7 places to stay in Krakow. The best hotels in Kleparz & Main Station, ranked · Where to stay in Krakow

Axel's take: 9.1/10

A standout city-break base, with excellent service and some compact rooms. An art-inspired 4-star boutique hotel just outside Krakow’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Hotel Indigo is an art-inspired 4-star boutique hotel in a 19th-century building just outside the Old Town. It’s a strong pick for a Krakow city break: Stary Kleparz market is opposite, and both the main square and railway station are walkable. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and breakfast. The Polish-painter-inspired interiors give it more character than a standard chain hotel, while the Filipa 18 restaurant adds a good reason to eat in.

The main compromise is space: IHG lists standard rooms at 13–21 square metres, and smaller rooms crop up in guest feedback. Check the room dimensions rather than assuming every upgrade is spacious. Parking is paid and very limited, requiring advance reservation, and there’s no pool. We’d choose it for couples and car-free sightseeing, not a facilities-led stay.

  • Best for: Couples on a city break; Car-free sightseeing; Travelers who like boutique design

  • Watch out for: Some compact rooms; Very limited paid parking; No swimming pool

  • Location: Opposite Stary Kleparz market, with the Old Town and main railway station within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Distinctive art-inspired interiors; standard rooms span 13–21 square metres, so check the exact category.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback, including especially strong Expedia ratings.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise on Tripadvisor and Expedia.

  • Amenities: Filipa 18 restaurant, bar, fitness centre and free Wi-Fi; breakfast is highly praised, but there is no pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; the hotel lists just two paid parking spaces requiring advance reservation.
