#6 of 9 hotels in Old Town by Axel's take. Old Town is #1 of 7 places to stay in Krakow. The best hotels in Old Town, ranked · Where to stay in Krakow

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A dependable central base, with excellent staff but some tired finishes. a five-star city-centre business hotel with more practicality than glamour, scored for what it is.

This five-star Holiday Inn is a strong pick for exploring Krakow on foot, rather than for a luxury escape. The Main Square is a short walk away, with Kazimierz and Wawel also walkable. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a generous breakfast. Strong overall ratings across both sites and Booking.com reinforce the impression of a hotel that gets the important basics right.

The caveat is finish rather than fundamental comfort: worn or stained carpets recur in recent reviews, and some rooms feel dated for five stars. The hotel announces conference-wing room renovations for January–March 2027, with that section closed during work. Breakfast can feel expensive when added separately, and parking costs extra. We'd choose it for convenience and dependable service; skip it for boutique character, immaculate luxury finishes or a pool.

Best for: first-time Krakow sightseers; business travelers; couples prioritizing walkability
Watch out for: worn carpets in some rooms and corridors; conference-wing renovations January–March 2027; breakfast and parking can add to the bill
Location: Excellent walking base near the Main Square, with Kazimierz and Wawel within easy reach.
Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, but recurring carpet wear weakens the five-star impression.
Cleanliness: Recent guests largely praise housekeeping; carpet staining is the recurring exception.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn consistent praise across Tripadvisor and Expedia.
Amenities: Two restaurants, a bar, small gym and massage spa; no swimming pool.
Fees and surprises: Parking and pets carry charges; check breakfast inclusion and the January–March 2027 renovation plans.
