Axel's take: 8.5/10

Warm service and generous gardens outweigh rooms that can feel behind the times. a traditional 5-star city hotel with gardens in Banjara Hills, scored for what it is.

Taj Krishna is a traditional 5-star city hotel in Banjara Hills, and we'd choose it for attentive hospitality, established restaurants and gardens that give it breathing room. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, while Booking.com guests rate location and service particularly highly. The outdoor pool, spa and substantial breakfast spread make it a strong option for families and travelers who want time at the hotel, not just somewhere to sleep.

The compromise is the hardware: dated rooms recur in guest feedback, and some travelers find the finish short of modern luxury expectations. Cleanliness is generally well rated, so this is more an aging-style concern than a consistently poor-housekeeping story. We'd skip it if contemporary interiors are essential. Check breakfast inclusions and transfer charges before booking, and explicitly request a non-smoking room.

• Best for: families wanting gardens and a pool; business travelers visiting central Hyderabad; travelers who value service over contemporary design

• Watch out for: dated interiors in some rooms; breakfast and airport transfers may cost extra; smoking and non-smoking rooms are offered

• Location: Banjara Hills location is a consistent strength across guest-review sites.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recurring dated-room feedback tempers the five-star promise.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive recent feedback; Booking.com and Trip.com both score cleanliness 8.6/10.

• Service: Warm, attentive staff are the clearest recurring strength, despite occasional lapses.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, gym, pickleball court, gardens and several dining venues.

• Fees and surprises: Confirm breakfast inclusions; airport transfers, extra beds and early or late departures can incur charges.
