7.4/10
Central convenience and helpful staff, tempered by noise and a past kitchen-hygiene finding.
Best Western Ashoka is a mid-range business hotel beside Lakdikapul metro, worth considering for central Hyderabad rather than luxury. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable rooms and the breakfast spread. Room cleanliness is generally well rated, and the location makes sightseeing and city appointments straightforward. It's a practical pick if transport access matters more than polished interiors.
The compromises are traffic noise, some tired bathrooms and occasional housekeeping or service lapses. More seriously, NDTV reported that a February 3, 2025 inspection found cockroaches and expired food in Hotel Ashoka's Lakdikapul kitchen. Later guests often praise the food, but we found no public follow-up confirming remediation; that historical finding should not be mistaken for proof of current conditions. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or if that unresolved dining concern would overshadow the stay.

Best for: business travelers with central-city appointments; sightseers using the metro; travelers prioritizing space and practicality
Watch out for: traffic noise in some rooms; tired bathrooms and uneven housekeeping; February 2025 kitchen-hygiene violations; remediation unverified
Location: Beside Lakdikapul metro; central and convenient, but the surrounding streets are crowded.
Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious; some guests report worn bathrooms and intrusive noise.
Cleanliness: Room feedback is mostly positive, with occasional lapses; the historical kitchen finding is a separate concern.
Service: Helpful staff earn consistent praise, though reception and restaurant service can be uneven.
Amenities: Restaurant, bar, Wi-Fi and gym; some guests find the gym equipment tired.
Fees and surprises: The brand lists free breakfast and parking; explicitly reserve a non-smoking room if required.
