Axel's take: 8.6/10

Warm service makes this established five-star a strong Banjara Hills base. an established five-star city hotel in Banjara Hills, scored for what it is.

Taj Deccan is an established five-star city hotel in Banjara Hills, with landscaped grounds and a notably strong service record. We'd pick it for comfortable rooms, helpful staff and a well-regarded breakfast rather than cutting-edge luxury. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Agoda guests repeatedly praise the hospitality, while cleanliness scores are reassuring. The outdoor pool, tennis court and dining options give families reasons to linger between outings.

The main caveat is uneven freshness: some guests describe an older building, while others praise renovated rooms. A July 2026 Agoda guest reported renovation work and only one working lift; confirm the current position and request a refreshed room. We'd skip it if consistently new interiors and a disruption-free luxury stay matter more than personable service.

• Best for: business travelers visiting Banjara Hills; families wanting a pool and gardens; travelers who prioritize attentive service

• Watch out for: confirm renovation work and lift availability; request a refreshed room; check whether breakfast is included

• Location: Road No. 1, Banjara Hills, near GVK One Mall; allow for traffic when planning airport transfers.

• Rooms: Comfort and space draw praise, but reports distinguish refreshed rooms from an older overall building.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall: both Booking.com and Expedia show cleanliness ratings of 9.0 out of 10.

• Service: The clearest strength, with repeated recent praise for friendly, attentive staff across several sites.

• Amenities: The official site lists an outdoor pool, gym, tennis court, spa, two restaurants and a bar.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast depends on the booking; airport transfers cost extra, and Booking.com lists an arrival damage deposit.
