Axel's take: 7.2/10

Helpful staff and good breakfast make this a practical, imperfect Abids base. a no-frills 3-star budget hotel in Abids, scored for what it is.

New Hotel Suhail is a no-frills 3-star budget hotel in Abids, best approached as a practical city base rather than a polished retreat. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded visit: Expedia and MakeMyTrip guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, generously sized rooms and breakfast. Shopping and local restaurants are convenient, and family-sized rooms are a useful plus.

The compromises are real. Recent reviews describe uneven room upkeep, tired bathrooms and unreliable Wi-Fi; some report pests and poor cleaning, although many others find rooms clean and comfortable. The narrow market lane can be crowded, with drainage smells mentioned by several guests. We'd skip it for a polished leisure stay or dependable remote working. Crucially, the hotel's published rules exclude unmarried couples and Hyderabad residents, and prohibit alcohol.

• Best for: budget-minded city visitors; Abids shopping trips; families needing larger rooms

• Watch out for: unmarried couples and Hyderabad residents excluded; uneven upkeep and occasional pest reports; narrow market-lane access

• Location: Convenient for Abids shopping and dining; the crowded approach lane attracts complaints about smells and access.

• Rooms: Often described as spacious, but furnishings, bathrooms and maintenance are inconsistent.

• Cleanliness: Many positive reports, offset by some recent complaints about dirty linen, mosquitoes and cockroaches.

• Service: Helpful, courteous staff are a consistent strength across sites, though complaint handling draws exceptions.

• Amenities: Air-conditioning, lift, breakfast, laundry and free parking are listed; Wi-Fi reliability is questionable.

• Fees and surprises: Published terms require a refundable deposit; breakfast may cost extra, parking needs advance confirmation, and alcohol is prohibited.
