#1 of 9 hotels in Sheung Wan & Sai Ying Pun by Axel's take. Sheung Wan & Sai Ying Pun is #4 of 10 places to stay in Hong Kong. The best hotels in Sheung Wan & Sai Ying Pun, ranked · Where to stay in Hong Kong

Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong Sheung Wan base that puts suite space ahead of full-service extras. An upscale all-suite boutique apartment hotel in Sheung Wan, scored for what it is.

The Jervois is an upscale all-suite apartment hotel, not a conventional three-star. We'd choose it for generous living space, privacy and a convenient Sheung Wan address. The hotel lists separate bedrooms and private lift lobbies, while recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and cleanliness. Cafés, restaurants and the MTR are close, making this a particularly practical base for longer visits.

The trade-off is a limited-facility hotel rather than a full-service luxury experience. Breakfast uses vouchers at nearby cafés, the reception area is small, and a recent Trip.com guest cautions that the kitchenette lacks cooking facilities. Trip.com also carries some cleanliness and maintenance complaints, although the wider picture remains strongly positive. We'd skip it if on-site dining and extensive communal facilities matter more than suite space.

  • Best for: Couples wanting separate living space; Families booking two-bedroom suites; Longer-stay city explorers

  • Watch out for: Breakfast is off-site; Kitchenettes are not full cooking kitchens; Limited communal facilities

  • Location: A short walk from Sheung Wan MTR, with abundant cafés and restaurants nearby.

  • Rooms: Spacious one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living areas and private lift lobbies.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and frequent praise, with some contrary reports on Trip.com.

  • Service: Friendly, personal front-desk help is a consistent strength across recent reviews.

  • Amenities: A 24-hour gym, Wi-Fi and guest laundry; breakfast is provided through nearby cafés.

  • Fees and surprises: A security deposit is required; breakfast and extra beds can cost extra.
