Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong waterfront pick if you value harbour views over a central tourist address. a modern five-star waterfront hotel in North Point, scored for what it is.

Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour is a modern five-star in North Point, and we'd pick it for waterfront scenery, dependable comfort and good transport links rather than grand-hotel luxury. Expedia and Booking.com guests strongly praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. The rooftop infinity pool and Cruise restaurant give it appeal beyond somewhere to sleep, while nearby MTR, tram and ferry connections make exploring straightforward.

The main compromise is space: standard rooms are compact, and recent guests still mention their size. North Point suits travelers happy to use public transport more than those wanting Central or Tsim Sha Tsui on their doorstep. We'd skip it if sprawling rooms are essential. Swimmers should also know the pool is unheated and scheduled to close for maintenance January 11–February 2, 2027.

• Best for: couples seeking harbour views; business travelers; independent explorers comfortable using transit

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms; outside the main tourist hubs; unheated pool; maintenance closure January 11–February 2, 2027

• Location: Waterfront promenade and local dining, with North Point MTR roughly three to five minutes away.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable, but standard rooms are approximately 24 square metres; entry categories have partial sea views.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength: Booking.com and Expedia both show particularly strong cleanliness ratings.

• Service: Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise friendly, attentive and professional staff.

• Amenities: Rooftop infinity pool, 24-hour gym, rooftop dining and lounge access with eligible bookings.

• Fees and surprises: Security deposit required; parking costs extra, and dogs are accepted through designated Dogcation bookings.
