#4 of 9 hotels in Tan Son Nhat Airport & Phu Nhuan by Axel's take. Tan Son Nhat Airport & Phu Nhuan is #6 of 6 places to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. The best hotels in Tan Son Nhat Airport & Phu Nhuan, ranked · Where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City
Axel's take: 7.8/10
A practical airport-side stay with spacious rooms, but not a polished city-break base. An older 4-star business hotel on the airport side of Ho Chi Minh City, scored for what it is.
Vissai Saigon is an older 4-star business hotel in Phu Nhuan, better suited to airport access and nearby meetings than sightseeing on foot. We'd consider it for a short, practical stay: recent Expedia guests praise spacious rooms and helpful staff, while Booking.com feedback also supports a generally clean, welcoming experience. Its overall ratings suggest a dependable hotel rather than a standout.
The main compromise is age. Tripadvisor feedback describes dated facilities, particularly the gym and pool, and an Expedia guest also flags tired condition, though most feedback is positive. The outdoor pool is small, so don't book expecting resort-style downtime. We'd skip it if fresh interiors or walking straight into District 1's main sights matter more than room space and airport-side convenience.
-
Best for: Short airport-side stays; Business travelers visiting Phu Nhuan; Travelers prioritizing room space
-
Watch out for: Dated interiors and leisure facilities; Small swimming pool; Transport needed for central sightseeing
-

-
Rooms: Spacious rooms draw praise; classic furnishings and some dated condition temper the four-star appeal.
-
Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, with stronger cleanliness ratings on Expedia than Booking.com.
-
Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a recurring positive across guest-review sites.
-
Amenities: The hotel advertises an outdoor pool, fitness center, restaurant and meeting facilities; recent guests describe a small pool.
-
Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; extra beds cost more, and onsite parking is limited.
