Axel's take: 4.7/10

Convenient highway access cannot outweigh recurring cleanliness and maintenance problems. a basic budget chain hotel off I-91, south of Hartford, scored for what it is.

This is a basic budget chain hotel in Wethersfield, not downtown Hartford, and we'd generally look elsewhere. Free parking, included breakfast and nearby restaurants make it practical for drivers. Some recent guests praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and helpful staff. But across several review sites, repeated reports of dirty linens, smoke smells, cockroaches and broken room equipment suggest problems beyond ordinary budget-hotel wear.

Choice confirms renovations are underway while the hotel remains open; a September 2026 Expedia guest reported demolition two doors away. Improvements may help, but there isn't enough evidence yet to call the problems resolved. The indoor pool drew closure complaints earlier in 2026, though summer guests report using it, so confirm availability directly. We'd skip it for a family pool stay or whenever dependable cleanliness matters more than the basic conveniences.

• Best for: drivers needing a brief stopover; travelers prioritizing free parking

• Watch out for: recurring cleanliness and pest reports; ongoing renovations and demolition noise; unreliable room equipment

• Location: Near I-91 and restaurants in Wethersfield; Hartford attractions require a drive.

• Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful, but guests repeatedly report worn furnishings and malfunctioning equipment.

• Cleanliness: Some rooms earn praise, but dirty linens, smoke odors and cockroach reports recur across sites.

• Service: Friendly staff receive praise, while housekeeping and problem resolution remain inconsistent.

• Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking are included; confirm pool, gym and sauna availability before relying on them.

• Fees and surprises: Renovations are ongoing; expect a card security hold and pet charges, with pet-size restrictions.
