This is a mid-range lakeside chain hotel, not a luxury four-star. We'd choose it for a Halifax trip with a car: the lake setting, included hot breakfast and free parking make a useful package. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the restaurant. A lake-view room is worth prioritizing; downtown is roughly a 10–15-minute drive away.
The older building has uneven room styles, including motel-like ground-floor accommodation. June 2026 guests reported renovations and an elevator outage; management also confirmed emergency pool repairs in August. Their current status isn't clear, so check before booking, especially if stairs are a problem. The hotel also schedules Monday and Wednesday afternoon pool closures. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere downtown stay or if guaranteed pool access is essential.
