Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong business-and-shopping base, with excellent facilities but a less sightseeing-friendly location. a full-service 4-star convention hotel connected to a shopping mall, scored for what it is.

Tikal Futura is a full-service 4-star convention hotel in Zone 11, and a strong pick if you want comfort and plenty to do without leaving the complex. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and genuinely helpful staff. The attached mall, substantial gym, heated indoor pool and spa give it more substance than a standard business hotel. We'd particularly favor it for conferences, shopping trips and families who appreciate everything under one roof.

The main compromise is location: this is a commercial-road base rather than a neighborhood for leisurely sightseeing. The hotel announced renovated rooms available from October 1, 2026; ask whether your room is updated and whether further work affects your dates. Breakfast and airport transfers can cost extra. We'd skip it for a small, characterful stay centered on exploring the city on foot.

• Best for: conference and business travelers; families wanting extensive facilities; shopping-focused stays

• Watch out for: commercial-road location; confirm room-renovation status; breakfast and airport-transfer extras

• Location: Zone 11 on Calzada Roosevelt, connected to Tikal Futura Mall and convenient for Miraflores.

• Rooms: Comfort and cleanliness earn consistent praise; renovated rooms were announced for October 1, 2026.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive repeated praise across review sites.

• Amenities: Heated indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, substantial gym, squash and direct mall access.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free self-parking; breakfast and transfers may cost extra. Confirm renovation impact and pool availability.
