Axel's take: 8.2/10

A practical Zona 10 base with welcoming staff, comfortable beds and some room quirks. A traditional mid-range business hotel in Zona 10, scored for what it is.

Stofella is a traditional mid-range business hotel rather than a polished luxury four-star, and we'd shortlist it for a practical Guatemala City stop. Its Zona 10 location puts restaurants and shops within walking distance, with convenient airport access. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The included breakfast is another strength, particularly the freshly cooked eggs.

The trade-off is inconsistency between rooms: some feel modern, others dated or dark, and noise carries in certain locations. Several guests also report fluctuating shower temperatures. Confirm step-free access before booking, since recent reviews conflict with elevator listings. There's a gym but no pool, and parking and airport transfers cost extra. We'd skip it for a resort-style stay or if reliable quiet is essential.

• Best for: Airport stopovers; Business travelers; Travelers wanting restaurants within walking distance

• Watch out for: Noise in some rooms; Uneven shower temperatures; Confirm step-free access to your room

• Location: Convenient Zona 10 setting near dining and shopping; allow extra airport-transfer time in traffic.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally good space, but daylight, decor and sound insulation vary.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews on several sites.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise, especially at reception and breakfast.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free Wi-Fi, restaurant and fitness center; no swimming pool.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport transfers are chargeable; published parking charges differ, so confirm directly.
