Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical Zona 4 base with useful facilities, but rooms show their age. an older mid-range business and conference hotel in Zona 4, scored for what it is.

Conquistador is an older mid-range business and conference hotel in Zona 4, and we'd choose it for convenience rather than polish. Booking.com and Expedia guests regularly praise the location, helpful staff and generally clean, spacious rooms. Nearby restaurants give you options beyond the hotel, while the pool, gym and event facilities make it more useful than a basic overnight stop. It's a sensible pick for short city stays and travelers attending meetings here.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep: guest reports describe older bathrooms, sparse furnishings and occasional problems with room equipment. Service earns more praise than criticism, though the welcome isn't consistently warm. Several guests also find the pool cold. Breakfast isn't included in every booking. We'd skip it if fresh interiors and reliably modern room facilities matter more than location and practical amenities.

• Best for: short city stays; conference attendees; travelers exploring Zona 4 restaurants

• Watch out for: dated bathrooms and uneven room upkeep; pool can feel cold; breakfast may cost extra

• Location: Convenient Zona 4 base with restaurants nearby; location is a consistent guest-review strength.

• Rooms: Often spacious, but bathrooms, furnishings and equipment receive recurring age-related criticism.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Usually friendly and helpful, with some reports of an indifferent reception.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, restaurants, bars and substantial meeting facilities; guests sometimes find the pool cold.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; the hotel advertises complimentary airport transfers and covered parking, arranged ahead.
