Axel's take: 8.7/10

A dependable Zona 10 base with clean, spacious rooms and practical airport access. a modern mid-range business hotel in Zona 10, scored for what it is.

Courtyard Guatemala City is a modern mid-range business hotel, and a strong pick for work trips or an overnight before flying. Recent Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, roomy accommodation and helpful staff; Tripadvisor feedback also highlights restaurants within walking distance. We'd choose it for straightforward comfort and convenience rather than a full-service luxury experience.

The trade-offs are mostly about what isn't included. Marriott confirms breakfast costs extra, and airport transfers are paid and require reservations—don't assume the shuttle is complimentary. There's a 24-hour gym, restaurant and terrace, but no pool for downtime. It's a very good fit for a practical city stay; we'd skip it if swimming or an included breakfast and transfer matter more than room comfort.

• Best for: business travelers; overnight airport stopovers; travelers who want restaurants nearby

• Watch out for: breakfast costs extra; paid airport transfers require reservations; no swimming pool

• Location: Zona 10, with restaurants within walking distance and La Aurora Airport 4.7 km away.

• Rooms: Modern, spacious accommodation; recent guests generally praise comfort and condition.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Booking.com and Expedia feedback.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff receive repeated praise across guest-review sites.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, terrace and 24-hour gym; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and airport transfers cost extra; Marriott lists complimentary on-site parking.
