Useful for business trips, but renovated rooms haven't eliminated inconsistent maintenance. a full-service mid-range business hotel near Expo Guadalajara, scored for what it is.

Holiday Inn Guadalajara Select is a full-service mid-range business hotel, strongest for Expo visits and trips around western Guadalajara. We'd consider it for spacious rooms, comfortable beds and practical facilities rather than luxury. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the breakfast buffet. IHG advertises renovated rooms, and an October 2025 Tripadvisor guest specifically praised the refreshed premium rooms. The rooftop pool and city views add appeal beyond the business basics.

The hesitation is consistency: Tripadvisor's recent feedback is markedly weaker, with repeated 2026 complaints about failing air-conditioning and bathroom maintenance. Renovation noise was also reported in January 2026; whether work continues is unconfirmed. Parking costs extra, and breakfast inclusion needs checking against your reservation. It's a reasonable short-stay option, but we'd skip it if dependable cooling and uniformly polished upkeep are priorities.

• Best for: Expo Guadalajara business trips; short stays in western Guadalajara; travelers wanting spacious chain-hotel rooms

• Watch out for: recent air-conditioning and bathroom complaints; renovation noise reported in January 2026; paid parking; confirm breakfast inclusion

• Location: Near Matute Remus bridge and roughly 2 km from Expo Guadalajara; practical for western-city business trips.

• Rooms: IHG advertises renovated rooms starting at 32 square meters; recent guests report uneven cooling and maintenance.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated on Booking.com and Expedia, though recent Tripadvisor accounts are less reassuring.

• Service: Helpful staff earn broad praise, but problem handling receives some sharply negative accounts.

• Amenities: Heated rooftop pool, gym, restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi; IHG says no airport shuttle is available.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is charged; verify breakfast coverage and whether renovation work affects your dates.
