Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong business base with standout breakfasts and shopping downstairs, but not historic-center atmosphere. an upscale business hotel in the Midtown Jalisco shopping complex, scored for what it is.

Hilton Guadalajara Midtown is an upscale business hotel that gets the important things right: spacious modern rooms, strong cleanliness feedback and easy access to restaurants and shops in the Midtown Jalisco complex. We'd pick it for a work trip or a comfortable shopping weekend. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff and breakfast buffet, while the rooftop pool and well-equipped gym give it more appeal than a purely functional business base.

The trade-off is the setting: convenient for offices and mall dining, less satisfying if you want to explore historic Guadalajara on foot. Some guests flag loud music in public areas, and occasional maintenance and check-in misses temper otherwise excellent feedback. Breakfast is not included in every booking, and valet parking costs extra. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or an old-town stay.

• Best for: business travelers; shopping and dining weekends; travelers prioritizing spacious, clean rooms

• Watch out for: rides needed for historic-center sightseeing; occasional loud music in public areas; breakfast and parking may cost extra

• Location: In the Midtown Jalisco business and shopping complex; convenient locally, but not a historic-center walking base.

• Rooms: Generally spacious, modern and comfortable; occasional maintenance complaints are outweighed by positive feedback.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn frequent praise, especially at breakfast; occasional check-in lapses appear.

• Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool and bar, gym, restaurant and 24-hour room service; Hilton lists no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and pets carry charges; confirm breakfast inclusion and Wi-Fi terms for your booking.
