Axel's take: 7.8/10

A practical Expo base with useful inclusions, but maintenance can be uneven. a straightforward mid-range business hotel near Expo Guadalajara, scored for what it is.

This straightforward mid-range business hotel makes most sense for Expo Guadalajara, which Marriott places 700 meters away. We'd consider it for a short work trip: included American breakfast, free parking and a gym cover the essentials without much fuss. Expedia's overall ratings remain solid, with cleanliness and staff among its stronger marks, and recent guests include praise for attentive service and good breakfast.

The reservation is room condition rather than location. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reports flag dated fittings, unpleasant odors and occasional air-conditioning trouble, although these are not the dominant experience across the overall ratings. We'd choose it for convention convenience, not polished surroundings. Skip it if you're sensitive to maintenance shortcomings or want to explore the historic center on foot; Marriott puts that district eight kilometers away.

• Best for: Expo Guadalajara attendees; Short business trips; Travelers arriving by car

• Watch out for: Uneven room maintenance; Breakfast ends early on weekdays; Outside the historic center

• Location: About 700 meters from Expo Guadalajara; the historic center is roughly eight kilometers away.

• Rooms: Functional business-hotel rooms, with some recent reports of dated fittings and air-conditioning problems.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated on Expedia, but recent odor and cleaning complaints warrant some caution.

• Service: Attentive staff earn praise, though problem resolution has disappointed some guests.

• Amenities: Included American breakfast, gym, Wi-Fi, room service and on-site EV charging.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is complimentary; weekday breakfast ends at 9 a.m. Confirm transport directly, as shuttle listings conflict.
