Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong campus base with refreshed rooms, helpful staff and some nighttime noise. a renovated 3-star hotel directly across from the University of Florida, scored for what it is.

This renovated 3-star Holiday Inn is a strong pick for University of Florida visits and Gator games: campus is across the street, and the stadium is walkable. Recent Expedia and Google guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff. Local reporting confirmed completed room and public-space renovations in March 2026, so older construction complaints no longer describe the current hotel. The rooftop pool, on-site Piesanos restaurant and complimentary parking add practical appeal.

The trade-off is that campus convenience doesn't guarantee quiet: guests have mentioned nighttime street noise, while some older reviews flag loud air-conditioning. Breakfast isn't automatically included, and special-event parking is limited to one vehicle per room. We'd choose it for campus access rather than a peaceful getaway; light sleepers should request a quieter room.

• Best for: UF families and campus visitors; Gator sports fans; Travelers wanting walkable campus access

• Watch out for: Nighttime street noise; Breakfast inclusion depends on booking; One vehicle per room during special events

• Location: Across from UF, with a walkable route to the stadium and nearby dining.

• Rooms: Redesigned rooms and bathrooms; recent guests generally like the refreshed condition.

• Cleanliness: Recent Expedia and Google reviews consistently praise clean rooms.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, despite occasional problem-handling complaints.

• Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool, fitness center, free Wi-Fi and two on-site dining options.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary with event restrictions; breakfast may cost extra, and pets incur a fee.
