Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong central base with comfortable rooms and breakfast worth considering. A contemporary 4-star city hotel near the Zeil, scored for what it is.

Avani Frankfurt City is a contemporary 4-star near the Zeil and Konstablerwache, and we'd pick it for a comfortable, well-connected city break. Formerly NH Collection, it became Avani in 2024. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests broadly agree on its strengths: comfortable rooms, helpful staff, cleanliness and a generous breakfast. The music-themed public spaces give it more personality than a standard business hotel.

The main compromise is room-dependent peace and quiet: guests mention street noise, occasional overheating and some maintenance lapses. A February 2026 guest also reported construction opposite; whether that work continues is unconfirmed. Light sleepers should discuss room placement before booking. Check how many breakfasts your package includes, since guests on more than one site describe one-person-only inclusions. We'd skip it if guaranteed quiet matters more than central convenience.

• Best for: Car-free city breaks; Shopping and sightseeing; Business travelers

• Watch out for: Room-dependent noise and temperature; Confirm nearby construction status; Check breakfast coverage for every guest

• Location: Near the Zeil, with Konstablerwache station just 200 metres away.

• Rooms: Comfortable and often spacious; some guests report noise, overheating or minor maintenance issues.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall: Expedia scores cleanliness 9.2 and Booking.com 8.9, despite occasional lapses.

• Service: Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise friendly, helpful staff.

• Amenities: Breakfast restaurant, Pantry deli/bar, gym, sauna and steam room; rebranded from NH Collection in 2024.

• Fees and surprises: Public parking opposite is paid separately; check breakfast occupancy coverage and the status of construction reported in February 2026.
