#4 of 4 hotels in University of Oregon by Axel's take. University of Oregon is #2 of 6 places to stay in Eugene. The best hotels in University of Oregon, ranked · Where to stay in Eugene

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical campus base, with friendly staff but uneven room condition. a no-frills 2-star motel across from the University of Oregon, scored for what it is.

University Inn & Suites is a no-frills 2-star motel whose biggest advantage is its location across from the University of Oregon and Matthew Knight Arena. We'd consider it for a short campus visit: Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful employees, and many report clean rooms and comfortable beds. In-room microwaves and refrigerators, free parking and included breakfast make it a practical budget choice.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep. Recent guests describe worn furnishings and maintenance issues alongside much happier reports; breakfast is basic, parking can be tight, and traffic noise may bother light sleepers. There is no elevator. The outdoor pool is closed for the season, with Booking.com listing reopening on May 24, 2027. We'd skip it if you want polished rooms, dependable quiet or more than straightforward motel comforts.

Best for: budget-conscious campus visitors; Matthew Knight Arena eventgoers; short stays with a car
Watch out for: uneven room upkeep and traffic noise; tight parking and no elevator; outdoor pool closed for the season
Location: Across from campus and Matthew Knight Arena, with Hayward Field within walking distance.
Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful; furnishings and maintenance vary between guest reports.
Cleanliness: Generally positive across booking-site ratings, though some recent guests report housekeeping lapses.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength in recent reviews.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, basic included breakfast and laundry; seasonal outdoor pool currently closed.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free, with one space per room advertised; pets and laundry carry extra charges.
