Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong budget choice for mall trips, with unusually good family amenities. a budget chain hotel near West Edmonton Mall, scored for what it is.

This budget Days Inn is a strong pick for families visiting West Edmonton Mall, especially with a car. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and genuinely helpful staff. Free parking, included hot breakfast, in-room microwaves and fridges, plus an indoor pool and hot tub make it good value beyond just somewhere to sleep. The on-site restaurant is another practical bonus.

The compromises are manageable: some guests report hallway noise, and breakfast gets mixed feedback on food temperature, variety and seating space. Valley Line West LRT construction along 87 Avenue near the mall can complicate local driving; that is an area traffic issue, not confirmed work at the hotel. We'd choose it for an easy family base, but skip it for a walkable downtown stay or reliably hushed surroundings.

• Best for: families visiting West Edmonton Mall; budget-conscious travelers with a car; sports teams and small groups

• Watch out for: occasional hallway noise; breakfast quality and seating vary; LRT construction near the mall

• Location: A short drive from West Edmonton Mall; better suited to motorists than downtown sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well reviewed, with microwaves and fridges; larger family suites are available.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews across several sites strongly favor clean rooms and well-kept shared spaces.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the most consistent strengths in recent guest feedback.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, indoor pool, hot tub, gym, guest laundry and Aliments Kitchen restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; Expedia lists a security deposit and pet fees. Allow for construction-related traffic near the mall.
