Axel's take: 7.2/10

A practical downtown base with welcoming staff, but tired rooms and temporarily closed leisure facilities. a no-frills downtown budget chain hotel, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills downtown budget hotel, and we'd consider it for a short Edmonton stay rather than a hotel-centered getaway. The location puts Rogers Place, restaurants and the LRT within walking distance. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and the included hot breakfast. It's a practical choice if convenience matters more than fresh interiors.

The compromise is an aging building: dated finishes, musty smells and occasional maintenance or housekeeping misses recur, although many guests report clean, comfortable rooms. Expedia lists the swimming pool and sauna as unavailable through October 27, 2026, so don't book around those facilities without confirming reopening. September guests also reported roadwork outside affecting access. Parking costs extra. We'd skip it for a polished stay or a pool-focused family break.

• Best for: budget-conscious downtown visitors; Rogers Place eventgoers; short stays near the LRT

• Watch out for: pool and sauna listed closed through October 27, 2026; dated interiors and uneven upkeep; paid parking and recently reported roadwork

• Location: Walkable downtown base near the LRT; September guests reported roadwork complicating access.

• Rooms: Beds and room size earn praise, but worn finishes, mustiness and maintenance issues recur.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, with some recurring complaints about stains and neglected details.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.

• Amenities: Breakfast and Wi-Fi included; gym advertised, but pool and sauna listed unavailable through October 27, 2026.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is extra; confirm leisure-facility reopening and current vehicle access before arrival.
