#1 of 3 hotels in Dublin Airport by Axel's take. Dublin Airport is #11 of 11 places to stay in Dublin. The best hotels in Dublin Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Dublin

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong pre-flight stop, but confirm air conditioning if you sleep warm. a practical 4-star airport hotel with a free 24-hour shuttle, scored for what it is.

Carlton is a practical 4-star airport hotel we'd choose for an early departure or overnight layover. Recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. The free 24-hour airport shuttle is the biggest selling point, while on-site dining makes a short stay straightforward. It's a strong airport choice rather than a base for exploring central Dublin.

The main reservation is temperature control: several Tripadvisor guests report warm rooms and limited ventilation, and the hotel's own suite listing makes air conditioning subject to availability. Confirm it directly if that matters to your sleep. Soundproofing generally earns praise, but opening windows can bring aircraft noise. Parking is chargeable unless included in your package; reserve your outbound shuttle slot too. We'd skip it for a walkable city break.

  • Best for: early-flight travelers; overnight layovers; families using stay-and-park packages

  • Watch out for: air conditioning not guaranteed; parking charges unless included; airport setting, not central Dublin

  • Location: About five minutes from the airport by shuttle; approximately 9km from Dublin city centre.

  • Rooms: Generally spacious with comfortable beds; confirm air conditioning because warm-room complaints recur.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com reviews.

  • Service: Mostly warm and helpful, with some reports of missed requests and uneven problem handling.

  • Amenities: Free 24-hour shuttle, a 24-hour gym and several dining options; rooftop dining opens on selected days.

  • Fees and surprises: Check parking and breakfast inclusions; hotel-to-airport shuttle slots require advance booking.
