#6 of 8 hotels in Des Moines Airport by Axel's take. Des Moines Airport is #5 of 5 places to stay in Des Moines. The best hotels in Des Moines Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Des Moines

Axel's take: 7.1/10

A practical airport overnight, with helpful staff but uneven upkeep. a no-frills 2-star airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star near Des Moines Airport is a sensible pick for a short overnight rather than a longer getaway. Free 24-hour airport transportation and included hot breakfast are its strongest selling points. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and easy transfers; Tripadvisor feedback also supports its usefulness as basic accommodation before or after a flight.

The trade-off is an older property with uneven upkeep. Guest reports include musty smells, stained linens and maintenance problems, although these sit alongside plenty of positive cleanliness feedback. The hotel advertises an indoor pool and hot tub, but guests have reported hot-tub outages, so confirm availability if that matters. We'd consider it for airport convenience, but skip it if fresh interiors or consistently polished facilities are priorities.

Best for: Travelers catching early flights; Budget-conscious overnight stops; Guests needing an airport shuttle
Watch out for: Older interiors and uneven maintenance; Some reports of musty rooms and stained linens; Confirm hot-tub availability
Location: Close to the airport on Fleur Drive; better suited to flight connections than a downtown stay.
Rooms: Basic rooms include refrigerators and microwaves; condition and freshness vary in guest reports.
Cleanliness: Many recent guests praise clean rooms, but recurring odor and linen complaints prevent an unqualified endorsement.
Service: Recent Expedia reviews strongly favor the helpful staff and convenient airport transfers.
Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and 24-hour airport transportation; indoor heated pool and advertised hot tub.
Fees and surprises: Stay parking is free; extended parking costs extra, and Expedia lists a check-in deposit.
