7.8/10
A comfortable central base, but the five-star label promises more polish than it delivers.
The Metropolitan is an established five-star city hotel near Connaught Place, strongest on practical comfort rather than contemporary luxury. We'd pick it for a sightseeing or business trip where location, comfortable beds and a substantial breakfast matter more than design. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and the Indian-and-international breakfast spread. An outdoor pool, gym and neoVeda Spa round out the full-service offering.
The main compromise is age: guests across both sites describe dated rooms and facilities, even when they enjoyed their stay. Service earns plenty of praise, but occasional coordination lapses fall short of five-star expectations. Breakfast inclusion depends on your booking, and transfers cost extra. Request a non-smoking room explicitly, as the hotel has smoking floors. We'd skip it for a special-occasion luxury stay; it's a better fit as a comfortable, well-located base.
