Hotels in Delhia basic budget hotel opposite Old Delhi railway station
6.2/10
Useful for Old Delhi trains, but cleanliness and check-in consistency need work.
New Royal is a basic budget hotel whose strongest selling point is its position opposite Old Delhi railway station, handy for early trains and Chandni Chowk shopping. We'd consider it for a short, practical stop rather than a relaxed Delhi stay. Google’s overall rating is middling, and Booking.com’s is weaker; positive guests on Trip.com and ixigo praise helpful staff and straightforward value.
The concern is inconsistent delivery of the basics. Recent feedback across booking sites includes dirty bathrooms, tired or broken fittings, and reservations not being acknowledged, alongside happier reports of clean rooms and friendly service. The official website offers both AC and non-AC rooms, so check your category carefully. MakeMyTrip also lists restrictions on unmarried couples and local IDs. We'd skip it for a longer stay or if dependable cleanliness is essential.

Best for: budget travelers catching Old Delhi trains; short Chandni Chowk shopping trips
Watch out for: uneven cleanliness and maintenance; reported booking-recognition problems; restrictions on unmarried couples and local IDs
Location: Opposite Old Delhi railway station, convenient for trains and the surrounding markets.
Rooms: AC and non-AC categories; guest feedback suggests variable condition and working facilities.
Cleanliness: Mixed reports, with bathroom and room-cleaning complaints recurring in recent feedback.
Service: Helpful staff earn praise, but other guests report rude handling and unrecognized reservations.
Amenities: Wi-Fi and room service are listed; several current listings show a lift, contrary to the catalog.
Fees and surprises: Early or late check-in can cost extra; confirm reservation acceptance and ID eligibility directly.
