#3 of 9 hotels in Silver Beach & South Oceanfront by Axel's take. Silver Beach & South Oceanfront is #3 of 6 places to stay in Daytona Beach. The best hotels in Silver Beach & South Oceanfront, ranked · Where to stay in Daytona Beach

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong beachfront pick for clean rooms, useful kitchens and good value. a simple independent beachfront hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.

Nautilus Inn is a simple independent beachfront hotel that delivers especially well on the basics. We'd pick it for a good-value beach stay with space to unpack, an in-room kitchen and a private balcony. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, ocean views and helpful staff, while Booking.com's overall ratings reinforce that positive picture. The heated oceanfront pool and direct beach access make it particularly practical for families and longer stays.

The trade-off is polish rather than comfort: the hotel offers both refreshed and classic rooms, and some guests still find the older decor dated. Request a refreshed room and book oceanfront rather than partial ocean view if the outlook matters. Parking costs extra, and there's no on-site restaurant or bar. We'd skip it if you want full-service resort facilities rather than a straightforward beach base.

  • Best for: families who want a kitchen; couples seeking beachfront value; longer self-catering stays

  • Watch out for: older decor in classic rooms; paid parking; partial ocean view is not oceanfront

  • Location: Direct beach access south of the main boardwalk area; a car helps for exploring.

  • Rooms: Spacious rooms with kitchens and balconies; refreshed and classic options have different finishes.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews and major booking-site ratings.

  • Service: Mostly praised as friendly and helpful, with occasional front-desk criticism.

  • Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, hot tub, free Wi-Fi and guest laundry; no restaurant or bar.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is charged nightly; extra vehicles are limited and special-event parking terms can differ.
