Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong beachside choice for comfortable rooms and value, with noise worth weighing. a modern 4-star hotel across the road from My Khe Beach, scored for what it is.

Canvas is a modern 4-star across the coastal road from My Khe Beach, and a strong pick for comfort and value rather than resort-style seclusion. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms and helpful staff; ocean-facing rooms and the rooftop pool are particular draws. Restaurants, cafés and convenience stores nearby make it an easy base for a beach-and-city stay.

The main compromise is noise: guests on Expedia and Trip.com mention traffic or music from across the street. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, but some recent guests find it ordinary or inconsistently replenished. A few guests on different sites also describe disputed towel or room-item charges at checkout, so clarify extras and leave time before departing. We'd choose it for beach access and sea views, but skip it if quiet nights are essential.

• Best for: couples wanting sea views; families wanting spacious rooms; value-minded beach-and-city travelers

• Watch out for: traffic and nearby bar noise; room views vary by category; occasional checkout charge disputes

• Location: My Khe Beach is across the coastal road, with restaurants and everyday shops nearby.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable; book an explicitly ocean-facing category if the view matters.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall guest ratings and frequent praise, with occasional housekeeping lapses reported.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though checkout handling draws some criticism.

• Amenities: Rooftop infinity pool, restaurant, rooftop bar, spa, gym and kids' club are advertised officially.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; late checkout can cost extra, and some guests dispute towel or room-item charges.
