Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong riverside base with standout staff, though the interiors show their age. an established 4-star city hotel overlooking the Han River, scored for what it is.

Brilliant is an established 4-star city hotel on the Han River, and we'd choose it for sightseeing rather than beach days. Han Market, the cathedral and plenty of restaurants are close by. Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable rooms and varied breakfast. A river-view room makes the most of the setting, while the rooftop bar offers another way to enjoy the bridges and evening lights.

The trade-off is age: recent guests describe dated interiors, and a few report housekeeping details being missed, although cleanliness feedback remains strongly positive overall. Some guests mention noise, too. The pool is glass-roofed on the fourth floor, not an outdoor rooftop pool. It's a strong pick for a convenient city stay; we'd skip it for fresh contemporary design or a beach-resort atmosphere.

• Best for: first-time Da Nang sightseers; couples wanting river views; travelers who value helpful service

• Watch out for: dated interiors; occasional noise and housekeeping lapses; not a beachfront hotel

• Location: Central riverfront position near Han Market, the cathedral and restaurants; better for city exploring than beach days.

• Rooms: Comfortable rooms earn strong feedback; river-view categories are worth considering, but interiors show their age.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across sites, with a few recent reports of missed dust, dirty glasses or incomplete tidying.

• Service: The clearest strength: guests consistently praise friendly staff and practical help with transport and travel arrangements.

• Amenities: Rooftop bar, restaurant, spa, gym and a glass-roofed fourth-floor indoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast is included; extra beds cost more, and entry-level rooms may have no view.
