#7 of 8 hotels in Harbison & Columbiana Centre by Axel's take. Harbison & Columbiana Centre is #4 of 5 places to stay in Columbia, South Carolina. The best hotels in Harbison & Columbiana Centre, ranked · Where to stay in Columbia, South Carolina

Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical Harbison stop with welcoming staff, but uneven room upkeep a no-frills budget hotel in Columbia’s Harbison shopping district, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills budget hotel that makes sense for a short Harbison stay, especially if you’re driving. Free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi cover the basics, while the lobby’s pool table adds something beyond a place to sleep. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, comfortable beds and convenient access to restaurants and shopping. We’d call it a good, practical option rather than a standout.

The catch is consistency. Many recent guests describe clean rooms, but others report bathroom cleaning lapses, moisture-related wear and unreliable hot water. Noise between rooms also comes up, so light sleepers should be cautious. Breakfast generally does the job rather than impresses. We’d skip it for a downtown-focused trip or if dependable room condition matters more than convenience and included basics.

Best for: road-trip overnight stops; Harbison shopping visits; budget travelers with a car
Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and room maintenance; noise between rooms; occasional hot-water problems
Location: Convenient for Harbison shops, restaurants and I-26; downtown sightseeing requires a drive.
Rooms: Simple rooms with mini-fridges and generally comfortable beds; noise and maintenance reports vary.
Cleanliness: Positive overall, but recent guests still report bathroom cleaning lapses and moisture-related wear.
Service: Friendly, welcoming staff are a recurring strength, though problem handling is less consistent.
Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym, lobby pool table and snack market.
Fees and surprises: Pets incur a nonrefundable fee; late checkout may cost extra, and housekeeping is limited.
