Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong budget stop for Fort Jackson, with helpful staff and a few inconsistencies. A budget-friendly 3-star roadside hotel near Fort Jackson, scored for what it is.

This is a straightforward 3-star roadside hotel, and we'd put it on the shortlist for Fort Jackson graduations or an overnight stop off I-20. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Tripadvisor feedback broadly backs that up. Free parking, breakfast and rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges make it a practical, good-value base, especially if you're traveling with a pet.

The main trade-off is consistency rather than a hotel-wide problem. Breakfast earns plenty of praise but also repeated complaints about temperature, selection and replenishment. Several guests mention small bathrooms, while weak shower pressure and damp rooms crop up across sites. We'd choose it for a short, practical stay rather than a longer family visit, and skip it if spacious bathrooms or reliably strong showers are priorities.

• Best for: Fort Jackson graduation visitors; Road-trippers stopping overnight; Budget travelers with pets

• Watch out for: Inconsistent breakfast quality and replenishment; Small bathrooms; Some reports of damp rooms and weak shower pressure

• Location: Convenient to I-20 and I-77 for driving to Fort Jackson; not a downtown sightseeing base.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, with microwaves and mini-fridges; bathroom space and maintenance vary.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall guest ratings, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a dominant pattern.

• Service: Helpful, accommodating front-desk staff are the most consistent strength across review sites.

• Amenities: Free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym, guest laundry and seasonal outdoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: Pets carry an extra charge, and guests report an incidental deposit; confirm terms before arrival.
