#8 of 8 hotels in Covington by Axel's take. Covington is #2 of 5 places to stay in Cincinnati. The best hotels in Covington, ranked · Where to stay in Cincinnati

Axel's take: 6.6/10

Useful kitchens and free parking, but uneven upkeep makes this a cautious budget pick. a no-frills budget extended-stay hotel in Covington, Kentucky, scored for what it is.

This is a budget extended-stay hotel across the river from Cincinnati, not a full-service suites property. In-room kitchens, free parking and proximity to MainStrasse give it practical appeal for travelers keeping costs down. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, and several recent Expedia reviewers describe clean rooms and comfortable beds. We'd consider it for a simple, self-catering base rather than a special getaway.

The catch is consistency. Other recent guests report worn fixtures, smoke or marijuana odors and uneven cleaning; several reviews also mention cockroaches. Breakfast is a small grab-and-go offering, and housekeeping is not daily. Nearby Brent Spence Bridge Corridor construction brings changing road access and detours. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness, quiet surroundings or a substantial breakfast matter more than kitchen space and parking.

  • Best for: budget travelers who need a kitchen; drivers wanting free parking

  • Watch out for: uneven cleaning and recurring odor complaints; several guest reports of cockroaches; nearby bridge construction and road detours

  • Location: In Covington near MainStrasse, across the river from Cincinnati; current bridge works complicate driving routes.

  • Rooms: Studios have a full-size refrigerator, stovetop and microwave; condition and bed comfort draw mixed feedback.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests find rooms clean, but repeated odor, cleaning and pest complaints make consistency a concern.

  • Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, though not every guest reports smooth problem handling.

  • Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi, guest laundry and a gym; breakfast is grab-and-go, and there is no pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Pet fees and a possible incidental deposit apply; no daily housekeeping, with extra cleaning available for a charge.
