#5 of 5 hotels in Uptown & Clifton by Axel's take. Uptown & Clifton is #4 of 5 places to stay in Cincinnati. The best hotels in Uptown & Clifton, ranked · Where to stay in Cincinnati

Axel's take: 7.8/10

Spacious suites and welcoming staff make a practical base, but breakfast needs more consistency. a no-frills 2-star all-suite hotel in Uptown Cincinnati, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star all-suite hotel is a good pick for university and hospital visits, especially with a car. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; free self-parking and breakfast strengthen the value. We'd choose it for practical comfort rather than atmosphere, and wouldn't mistake the Downtown name for a location in the sightseeing core.

The main weakness is consistency. Several 2026 guests report breakfast running short before service ends, while cleanliness feedback is mostly positive but includes occasional significant lapses. A June Tripadvisor review also reported the indoor pool closed for maintenance; confirm availability if swimming matters. We'd skip it for a car-free downtown weekend or if dependable breakfast service is a priority.

  • Best for: university and hospital visitors; families wanting extra room; value-minded travelers with a car

  • Watch out for: not in the downtown sightseeing core; breakfast replenishment can be unreliable; confirm indoor pool availability

  • Location: Uptown location suits campus and hospital trips better than a downtown walking holiday.

  • Rooms: Generously sized suites with sofa beds, microwaves and refrigerators; comfort earns repeated praise.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive across major sites, though some recent guests describe missed cleaning.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the most consistent strength across sources.

  • Amenities: Free breakfast, Wi-Fi, indoor pool, fitness center and laundry; breakfast execution varies.

  • Fees and surprises: Self-parking is listed as free; housekeeping is on request, and late checkout may carry a fee.
